How to Maximize Your Black Friday Travel Savings

Black Friday used to be our family’s favorite chaos. My sister, my daughter, and me – out after Thanksgiving dinner hitting Walmart, Kohl’s, then the mall. The parking lot madness, the lines, the thrill of not knowing if you’d get THE deal – we LIVED for it. We’d go even when we didn’t need anything. The rush was the point.

Then COVID changed Black Friday. The deals stretched longer, the in-store chaos faded. And yeah, we miss that adrenaline.

So we found it somewhere else: online travel deal hunting. Turns out, scoring 50% off theme park passes at midnight, snagging hotel deals before they sell out, racing to grab limited attraction tickets – it hits the SAME way. Same thrill, same urgency, same “did we just WIN?” feeling when you lock in an amazing deal.

Black Friday 2025 falls on November 28th, with Cyber Monday on December 1st. Sales drop mid-November through early December. The chaos is still here – it just looks different now.

Black Friday Experience & Activity Deals

Forget more stuff sitting in closets – give experiences. These are the gifts people actually remember: hot air balloon rides, cooking classes, spa days, adventure activities. Perfect for the travelers and thrill-seekers on your list, and honestly? Way better than another sweater. These make incredible Christmas gifts, especially when combined with that “giftable vacation” concept – give someone a skydiving voucher, then plan a trip around using it.

Black Friday Outdoor & Adventure Gear

Bonus: Too-Good-to-Skip Deal

Okay, this isn’t exactly travel gear, but a $494.99 steak package for $80 is TOO good not to mention. Perfect if you’re planning road trips with a portable grill (hello, state park cookouts), need an amazing gift for the dad/grandpa who has everything, or just want restaurant-quality steaks at home. This is legitimately one of the best Black Friday deals anywhere.

After Black Friday: What’s Next?

Didn’t grab everything you wanted? Cyber Monday (December 1st) often matches or extends Black Friday deals. Some travel companies run sales through mid-December, so keep checking back.

Bought annual passes or experience gifts? Put activation dates and expiration dates in your calendar NOW. Nothing worse than realizing your pass expired unused.

Planning a Trip Instead of More Stuff This Christmas?

[H2] Planning a Trip Instead of More Stuff This Christmas?

If you’re thinking about giving a trip as a Christmas gift this year (whether it’s the whole family or just you and your partner), we’ve done the work for you.

We mapped out a complete 14-day Detroit to Florida Keys road trip that costs $2,919 total for a family of 4 – hotels, food, gas, activities, everything. Every stop is detailed with day-by-day pricing so you know exactly what you’re spending before you go.

Here’s where it gets cool: We turned the entire trip into Christmas gifts. Snorkel gear from grandparents. Beach chairs from aunts and uncles. GoPro for recording the adventure. Every present under the tree becomes part of the experience – and suddenly the trip is funded through gifts instead of your bank account.

It’s the same thrill as Black Friday deal hunting, just with a different payoff. Instead of stuff in closets, you’re giving memories.

Check out the complete Florida road trip itinerary here – includes every hotel by name, exact costs, packing list, and the full gift guide.
