Welcome to Washington

Washington crams a rainforest, a volcano, islands, and orcas into one state. On the Olympic Peninsula you can stand in the Hoh Rain Forest, one of the rainiest places in the country at up to 14 feet of rain a year, then reach glacier-topped peaks and wild Pacific beaches the same day. Towering over it all is Mount Rainier, a 14,000-foot active volcano you can see all the way from Seattle. In the city, the very first Starbucks poured its first cup in 1975, and fishmongers still toss whole salmon through the air at Pike Place Market. Out in the San Juan Islands, orcas glide through the water, and across the state the orchards grow more apples than anywhere else in the country. Below you will find every Washington map, trip, guide, and hidden gem we have.
