A cute little beach town, Flagler Beach is the perfect place to pull to the side of A1A and walk down to the ocean. The beautiful sandy beaches and crashing waves make it a tranquil place. Bring an empty bottle to save some Florida sand.

Fort Matanzos National Monument

Arrive: 10:45am – Depart: 12:00pm

Time to get out and stretch your legs. If you plan it just right you can make it to the Fort in time to take a boat ride to see the National Monument up close and personal. If you miss the boat you can still see the Fort in the distance, and hopefully you’ll have the chance to hear one of the informative park rangers explain the history of Fort Matanzos. Once your done looking around sit at one of the picnic tables among the uniquely amazing trees and enjoy your picnic lunch.

Arrive: 3:30pm – Depart: 5:00pm

One thing you have to do in St. Augustine is visit the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument. This is a National Park and requires a National Park pass to enter. Buy there or get your membership early. A short walk from St. George St, and the parking facility. It’s an amazing piece of history and has a lot of stories to tell. Talk with the reenactors and read all about it’s history on the story boards. Walk around the top edge and see real cannons.
