South of the Border is located in Hamer, South Carolina; Just south of the North Carolina border.
Just off I95.
A Tourist destination with 250 Billboards telling you to stop South of the Border.
Opened in 1950 this tiny town is 350 acres and packed full of fun. How can you not stop and see what Pedro has to offer, after all they do to get you to stop!
If you love one of a kind stops this is a must! After all if they are spending more than 40 million dollars in just billboards a year then there must be something for everyone, right?
Pedroland Park – Currently closed for maintenance
Sombrero Tower – 200 Foot tower that gives you spectacular views of South of the Border
Reptile Lagoon – Largest indoor reptile display in the United States
El Toro Arcade – An arcade that sits under the Sombrero Tower
SOBMX Motocross – Dirt bike training course with tracks for the pros as well as those who need a little training
Souvenir Shops– There are a few shop to find a little something
Camp Pedro– big pull thru sites this is a perfect place to stop along your route
South of the Border Motor Inn– With a indoor heated pool and an outdoor pool and a Mexican themed hotel. Sounds perfect and the price is right.
With so much to do in this small area this is a must do. If it fits to stay overnight you could stay at this little resort type town and have all the fun you want or if your just passing thru you can fill up on gas take a couple pictures and move on. Either way if you are driving by, South of the Border is worth a stop!
